{This poem is also “inspired” by today’s prompt on dVerse: “on the other hand.”}
people look for leaders
even unintentionally
and some leaders lead
with a heavy hand
and some laissez-faire
and no one stops
to think about
where these leaders
get their ideas
or maybe they know
that’s why they follow
It’s from the Good Book
you see
though it’s a matter
of interpretation
who’s really the
authority
There is a leader
inspired by the Holy Spirit
and leads his flock
on a humble path
on faith
on hope
on love
on the other hand
There is a leader
inspired by his god
and leads his pack
on a prideful path
on mistrust
on despair
on hate
It seems to me the people tend to follow “charisma”…..instead of a true leader. Saddens me that God/Christ are not considered by many to be examples of good Leadership. All that glitters…

i would hope more leaders turn there to find their model in leadership than to their earthly ideas of getting ahead or the pocketbooks of their supporters…smiles.

the values that someone leads by matter a lot – sooner or later those will be visible in the fruits as well…hopefully not too late

It definitely does…the fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree, as they say… smiles

The state of someone’s mind will affect how they see their God and certainly that can have two sides. Nicely written.

Very true. The tricky part, though, is finding out the leader’s state of mind before you follow. 😉 (Thanks for stopping by!)
